Last Saturday, when I logged in to my pc to check my email, I saw the mail from a credit report company asking for some of information; I checked the mail to make sure it’s not a faulty mail which deals with stuff like phishing and hacking. After confirming it as a legitimate mail according to my knowledge and filled all the information and send the mail back. When I checked my mail box on Monday at my work place, I noticed that I could not log in to my mail id,I tried forgot password link and was shocked to see all my information and my security questions ,secondary mail id were changed .That made me to report hacking to the particular email id provider they said they will help me in 48 hours, and asked me to scan and send my id proof, which I did. After couple of verification formalities I got back my email id, but nearly cried as all my emails both personal and official email was been deleted, and also some one used my credit card for some online transaction. Now I am clear that the mail from the credit report company is a fraudulent mail that is the reason for my outrun. Hackers become so intelligent that they are designing exact website and exact email forum as the companies. My friend John recommended me a program called life lock to save my identity and prevent myself from hackers. I am trying life lock for 30 days trial. Hope it gives me good support.
